August Newsletter

Hi everyone,

apologies for the delay in getting this out.  Please read on for important changes to club days!

Club Days - SUNDAY

Last season we gave club nights a good go under lights, but found that the younger riders were not liking the cold nights too much. Committee decided that we would go back to Sunday afternoon racing till daylight savings kicks back in as of Sunday 17th August.

This Sunday (17th) August registration will be from 1.30 and racing at 2pm. Future Sundays will be as per normal, registration at 12.30pm, 1.00pm racing.

Gate Night - WEDNESDAY

For those of you who still want your Wednesday fix, we will be running gates (weather dependent) from 5.30 for about an hour or so. This will be a gold coin donation due to having to run the track lights as well.

These times are flexible due to demand and notification will be via text and also on Facebook if there are any changes as soon as possible. If you are able to run the gate on Wednesday, please let us know.

Club Champs

Due to the success of last seasons Club Champs, we will be running them again starting 8th October.

Training

Sprocket/Beginner training is still going ahead every Monday night from 5.30 thanks to Dion and Matt. If you are a Sprocket, then training is free and a great way to gain some skills. Ask in the points hut for more info.

Intermediate/Advanced Training

Lance is planning on starting his training around the end of this month or the beginning of September. More details to follow.

Central Region Winter Series

The Winter series is a great way for the Central Region clubs to get together for some inter club rivalry. Tauranga, Rotorua and Gisborne have all hosted their meets and Taupo was represented well in each.

It’s our turn on September 7th (Fathers Day) to host the Taupo Round of the series and also the final. It would be great to have as many of our riders be there including striders/tabletoppers to take part. Again, ask at the points hut for more info or to check out the flyer chick here: http://www.taupobmx.org.nz/event-flyers.html
