Xmas Parade, KOT Ring, Coaching

Hi all, as a club we have always enjoyed and made an impressive impact at the Taupo Xmas parade, riding en masse with festively decorated bikes (and full safety gear), near the front of the parade. This year with our striking new club shirts we will make an even more impressive procession. As usual the parade will be on the first Saturday of Dec (3rd) at midday. More info to be provided nearer the date.

The King of the Ring fundraising opportunity is to be held that evening. If we are on waiter/ressing/bar duties our much appreciated volunteers will  (from what has happened in the past)be expected to make a start from early afternoon so keep that in mind when planning your weekend/childminders. Perhaps some parents who cannot help fundraise on Saturday night will step forward to help supervise our parade entry? This just means meeting at the designated spot with some lollies to distribute, gathering  together and walking with the riders keeping everyone safe and together.

We are still short of the required 20 volunteers for King of the Ring. If at all possible please make the effort to join us and make a difference to our club by $5000.00 in just one night. Everybody I know who did this last time say it was very busy but a fun experience and a great way to make $5000.00. So much so that many are coming back for a second turn. We are lucky to have been chosen as a club to have this fundraising opportunity.

The committee is meeting on Monday evening (10th) and included in the agenda will be a discussion about the options for future club coaching. We are aware that this is an issue for many members and are hopng that this concern will bring forward a parent/adult who is keen to progress our young riders and attend a coaching course in the near future offered by BMX NZ. If this sounds like you please reply.
